Kit Cover types

Which is the best Kit Cover for my locks?

It depends on the lock of your door. Usually locks can be divided into two types: the Euro cylinder locks and the double bit ones. To understand what kind of lock you have and choose the proper Kit, click CHOOSE THE KIT link.

I have an old lock: to install Kit Cover, have I to change it?

Absolutely not. Installing Kit Cover you won’t have to change your lock only because it is too old and easy to force. Furthermore it is cheaper than a technologically leading lock.

Can I use Kit Cover when I am at home?

Yes, this is recommended for people who live alone and elderly people. You have only to put the Kit onto your outer lock and lock you in. You will be protected from any intrusion.

Have I to carry Kit Cover always with me?

Absolutely not. Kit Cover must be ALWAYS onto your door. You have to remove it only to open the lock and then put it again onto your door. You will carry only the coded plate.

Number of the opening plates

How many plates do you provide with Kit Cover? Is it possible to have one plate for each family member?

When you buy Kit Cover there are three plates available. If they are not enough, you can code all the plates you want at our company showing the duplicating code card. To have more information call us at +39 06.86.32.25.79 or email us at info@fratellifontana.it.

Can I use the coded plate as a key ring?

Off course, the plate has been designed to be inserted in your key ring. Furthermore, it is very light and to carry it with you won’t be a problem.

Materials

Which material do you use to produce Kit Cover?

Kit Cover is done with Ergal (AL 7075), an alloy of many metals chosen for its incredible strength and for its special NONMAGNETISM which do not affect the internal magnetism and the opening coding.

Is the magnetism of the opening device permanent?

Yes, the magnetism of the opening devise is not subject to damages and it does not needs other supply.

Can I install Kit Cover to my door even if I have hearth trouble? Can magnetism damage my credit cards?

No, you can use Kit Cover without any problem even if you have a pacemaker. The devise magnetism is only into the Cover, not in the coded opening plate. For this reason you can put it into your pocket or bag together with your keys, your phone and your credit cards without being worry to demagnetize it.

How is Kit Cover charged?

Kit Cover is a passive device against forcing and for this reason it is not need any energy supply.

Cleaning

How can I clean Kit Cover?

Kit Cover is produced with the Ergal, an alloy which is not subject to WEAR and ATMOSPHERIC AGENTS. You will not worry about maintenance and the cleaning of your Kit Cover because it will stand forever.

Customized products

Is it possible to realize specific products for my needs?

It is possible to customize Kit Cover at a very high level. Some examples: if your home has two entrances and you want to protect both from intrusions, you can ask us to code your Kit Cover to open your doors with the same plate sparing you the trouble of having two plates with you. Actually if you have an office and you want to keep the privacy, you can even customize your Kit Cover to open all the doors with your plate while your employees can open only the main door and their office’s.

All Fratelli Fontana products are under a two-year warranty. Hoping you are always satisfied by our offer, we remind you that, if you will give back one of our products, it must be in the intact original packaging according to the current rules.

How is the company available after the product purchasing? In case of problems or malfunctioning of the products, does the company guarantee the assistance?

Fratelli Fontana is always available to give you assistance in using our products. Some problems caused by a bad use of Kit Cover can be solved reading the directions on the manual or the other FAQ in this website carefully.

If the problem comes from the installation, it is better to call the installer or your dealer who will come to control your Kit Cover working.

Yes, it is possible to buy all Fontana’s products also in our centre, after having received a quotation or after a telephone order at +39 06 86322579 from Monday to Friday, 9 am - 1pm, 4,30 pm - 7 pm. The supply depends on the central storehouse and not on Fratelli Fontana office.

Delivery and transport

How much does transport cost?     

The transport cost depends on the delivery service you choose and the pack weight. Any way, delivery costs will be indicated during the order. You can decide to pay cash on delivery, adding the cash on delivery right charges. To guarantee celerity an efficiency we entrust Poste Italiane (Italian Postal Service) with our deliveries.

The products are delivered in about three working days, every day until 6pm. In same areas (like islands) the delivery time could be different.

If you have a subscription with another courier, it is possible to manage products with a telephone order and a payment in advance by bank transfer.

At our discretion, you can receive promotions, discounts or free transport (you can see in our website if there is some promotion). To have more information on transport please contact us at +39 06.86.32.25.79 or email us at info@fratellifontana.it.        

What happens if I am not at home when the courier arrives?

If the courier cannot deliver our product, he will leave a message where they ask for a telephone contact to decide a delivery time.

Anyway, in the following days the courier will come again to deliver the package.

Payment

How can I pay in www.fratellifontana.it?

Cash or bank draft:

Only for those who buy in our centre in Rome.

Cash on delivery:

It is needed to pay € 20,00 in advance for delivery to the following current account.

The amount of the ordered material must be paid directly to the courier.

You can use this kind of payment until a € 900 amount. Over this figure, the only way to pay is the bank transfer.

The courier does not accept any personal cheque.

To carry out the order it is necessary to send a copy of the bank transfer or the transaction receipt if carried out through the Home Banking system by fax at +39 06.86.32.25.79 or at info@fratellifontana.it.

We recommend to ask your bank for the C.R.O. number.

If there is a crediting date in the deposit slip, the material won’t be sent before this date.

It is not possible to reserve our products ordering them with a “Bank Transfer” payment until the bank credit receipt. After the bank credit receipt (usually bank systems take 7/8 working days to credit the transferred amount) we will send the material.

Postal Current Account

It is also possible to pay our products making a deposit in advance into a postal current account:

N.B. the products will be sent only AFTER the bank credit to the current account.

Order

Haw can I order a product?

  • Entering the customer page of our website you can send to us an order request; you will receive a confirmation in your e-mail address with all the information. The web order always implies the delivery by an express courier.

  • By telephone, calling us at +39 06.86.32.25.79, every weekday from 10am to 1pm and from 4,30pm to 7pm. Ordering the product by telephone you can only pick it up in our offices in Rome.

  • By fax filling in the order format downloaded in a pdf. format and sending it by fax at 06.97.25.66.04, 24 hours a day.

I read that if I am in Rome I can pick it up personally, how can I do?

Goods won’t be delivered in the Fratelli Fontana central storehouse but in another place, for this reason we recommend to reserve the materials IN ADVANCE to avoid to return empty-handed. To order call us at 06.86.32.25.79: one employees will fix an appointment in our offices in via Stevenson.

Generally the products ordered by telephone within 12am (if they are available in the storehouse) can be picked up the same day from 4,30pm.

All the orders after 12am are available the day after from 4,30pm (except Saturday).

Why I have not received the invoice with the package?

Usually the invoice is always with the package. If there is not, for administrative reasons or technical problems, inform us promptly and you will receive an invoice copy within 24 hours after the delivery.

I want to buy some products, how can I do it without going to Fratelli Fontana’s offices?

Order:

It is possible to order the products downloading and filling in the pdf. form and sending it by fax at 06.97.25.66.04.
